Christmas 2008

Jared and I had a great Christmas. We had lots of fun opening presents for Hadley. Our families were extremely generous. We are getting closer and closer to the birth of our first child. 9 weeks left!! It is still so surreal!
We chose a pediatrician today. I walked into the doctor's office and I immediately thought to myself.... whoa this is not good. The reception area was packed, the kid in front of me was wailing and would not stop, and I felt as if there were germs everywhere. I thought to myself...okay this is not going to be the best part of being a mom! Jared met me there and was immediately looking for the antibacterial lotion! Boy have we got some learning to do. Overall, we met with a pediatrician who was recommended to us by one of Jared's co-workers. We were impressed and we decided she was our lady! The office is less than 10 minutes from our house which is a huge plus.
We have a huge list of friends with pregnancy issues, good and bad, that we constantly pray for. Everything from not being able to get pregnant to miscarriages to healthy pregnant moms, etc. In the last week, we have gotten two praise reports that two couples who have been trying to get pregnant finally did. God is so good and it is such a blessing to be able to witness Him at work!

Snow and baby update

My last doctor's appointment went well. Hadley is now 2.8 lbs. She has some long toes and a cute profile. Everything is looking great! No calls saying I have gestational diabetes, so that is good. Giving up sweet tea would be hard!!

Thursday, December 11th, we woke up to a miracle. Real snow in Baton Rouge!! The kind that sticks and you can make snowmen with!!! We had about 2-3 inches in BR!! I drove to work in the snow and when I got to school kids were throwing snowballs at each other in the parking lot! Throughout the day, some students were building snowmen outside!! Pretty crazy!! It was really pretty!!

New York

Since I posted last, Jared and I have been to New York. We went for a few days during the Thanksgiving holidays. We had a great time. We saw Mamma Mia and Wicked, walked across the Brooklyn Bridge(in the freezing cold), went to the top of the Empire State Building, shopped, and went to the David Letterman show. Mama Mia and Wicked were amazing and fun. I would reccommend them to anyone looking for a good Broadway show. David Letterman was pretty exciting; we were able to get special seats in the FRONT ROW!!! We were able to see Faith Hill and Tom Arnold. We also woke up early our last day there and went to the Today Show where we were able to see Beyonce!!

I am going to the doctor on Monday for some blood work and another sonogram. (Routine visit) Can't wait to see Hadley again. She has been moving around alot. I love that feeling! We are looking forward to the Christmas break and some time off!!

Jared assembling Hadley's furniture

This past weekend Jared picked up Hadley's furniture and assembled it. He is so handy! Next, we need a mattress and the bedding. We are getting excited about fixing up her room. We were also able to register at our first place this weekend. It was lots of fun and not to overwelhming yet.
I had a doctor's appointment Monday and everything is looking good.

Hadley Kay

As of Saturday, I will be 24 weeks pregnant with our first baby. It's a girl!!! We are naming her Hadley Kay. We are so excited about this new journey in our lives. We can't wait until she gets here so we can love on her. We are working hard to get things ready for her arrival. Wow... who would have guessed there would be so many decisions to make. I am trying to remain calm and do a little bit at a time, so far so good. We are picking up her furniture this weekend!! Can't wait! We had to have a garage sale to make room for all of her stuff!

In addition to preparing for the arrival of our little princess, we are working and attending the LSU football games! Don't we all wish that was going better! When we aren't reminiscing about last year's team, we are enjoying our time together in Tiger Stadium.

That doesn't leave much time for anything else at the moment!

Here goes

Well, here goes... I figured since we are having our first child and we have lots of friends and family out of town, this would be a great way to keep up. I usually avoid these kinds of things because I don't typically have time to keep up with them, but I decided to try and see what happens.
